The on again, off again U.S. version of Top Gear is finally coming to The History Channel and it will be starring , Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara. These gentlemen have big shoes to fill as they’ll need to win over fans of the original show, as well as draw-in new viewers that may have never heard of the British motoring show.
Luckily, the new show appears to borrow the original show’s penchant for zany challenges evidenced by the U.S. version’s new trailer. It depicts a challenge where the hosts choose the best $1,000 car by subjecting it to a “moonshine run” dirt course. The trailer only shows Ferrara’s run where he manages to get a 1976 Cadillac Deville Calais behemoth airborne.
While the show is likely going to have trouble living up to the BBC version, it appears to feature many of the same elements. Stay tuned as we await more details.
