Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to be a Formula 1 race car driver? Well, a new video game could give you that opportunity.

F1 2010, developed by Codemasters, might be lacking the buzz surrounding Gran Turismo 5, but it offers stunning, photo-realistic imagery that will surely excite any F1 enthusiast.

“Driving the real world circuits enables me to give that impression to the guys creating the game,” said former F1 driver Anthony Davidson, “There’s all these details that only a driver would know about. For instance, turn eight in Spa; I know straight away any car I have ever driven there always understeers and it’s knowing that kind of detail as a driver that you can get over into the game. The circuits feel really spot on.”

Due to hit stores in September, F1 2010 may prove itself to be one of the best F1 racing games ever. If you don’t believe it, check out the clip below from the virtual cockpit of a Mercedes-Benz F1 car in the rain. The gameplay footage was captured at E3.
