Video: AutoCar Tests The 2011 VW Polo GTI

2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI Rear imageDespite earning the coveted title of World Car of the Year, the Volkswagen Polo is not available here in the U.S. At least we can watch our friends at AutoCar take the Polo GTI through its paces.

Powering the Volkswagen Polo GTIĀ  is a 1.4-liter TSI engine that produces a 180 horsepower and 184 pound feet of torque with the help of a turbocharger and supercharger. This complex unit is mated to either a 7-speed twin-clutch DSG automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. The ultra compact Polo can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 142 mph.
