Although sales of the Toyota Prius dropped dramatically in July compared to a year ago, Maryland Lexus pointed out that Toyota and Lexus together sold considerably more hybrid vehicles than any other automaker.
While the Prius may have underperformed this past month compared to July 2009, it seems that Toyota and Lexus combined were actually responsible for 73.9 percent of hybrid sales in the U.S. last month. In total, 17,504 hybrid vehicles were sold between the two brands in July, which certainly gives Toyota something to be pleased with.
