Now independent and with backing from Spyker, the Swedish government and a European bank, Saab was quite proud to show off its new crossover, the 9-4x.
Based on a GM crossover platform also used on the Cadillac SRX–a last holdover from that marriage–the 9-4x is available in front- and all-wheel drive. The engine lineup is a turbocharged 2.8-liter, V-6 and a normally aspirated V-6. The standard V-6 produces 265 horsepower, while the turbo puts out 300 horsepower.
According to Queens Used Cars, the 9-4x replaces the larger 9-7x, which was also based on a GM SUV. The 9-4x goes on sale in the U.S. in May 2011.
