Cleveland Claims $200 Million Investment from Ford

As Ford works to double sales of its EcoBoost engines this year—and create more than 12,000 hourly jobs in this country by 2015—the company has announced a new initiative that will help accomplish both goals. The Blue Oval is investing nearly $200 million in its Cleveland Engine Plant, which will allow for significantly increased production of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine for U.S. customers, and further lead to the hiring of 450 new employees.

Ram Is First to Market with Light-duty Diesel Pickup

After becoming the first full-size pickup to offer an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Ram 1500 is about to set another milestone by pairing that advanced gearbox to a clean-diesel V6 engine—the first next-gen diesel engine to be offered by any of the current crop of full-size light-duty pickups. The Ram’s HD pickups, of course, have long offered proven diesel power from Cummins, which has allowed the brand’s heavy-duty lineup to claim a best-in-class trailer-tow rating of 30,000 lbs.
