Nissan Leaf Production Leaves Consumers Wanting More

Nissan Leaf imageNissan’s all-electric Leaf is one of the most anticipated models of the year. In fact, initial reservations for the new EV went so quickly that Nissan hasn’t offered another phase of reservations until current orders could be processed. In the wake of overwhelming demand, Nissan has more Leaf production facilities planned.

“We’ll build more Leafs in the next two months and add overtime and holidays to keep up with production of the other vehicles on the line,” said Seiji Honda, head of the Oppama, Japan factory. “Right now, about one in every seven cars is a Leaf, and we’ll start building more until we reach maximum capacity in March.”
