The violent combination of Coke and Mentos became an Internet sensation, but apparently the force produced by the two is also a possible alternative fuel for cars.

Fueled by 108 two-liter bottles of Coke Zero and 648 Mentos, this vehicle can travel a staggering 221 feet. The two gentleman behind the project, Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz, devised a piston mechanism that moves when pressure builds up inside of the Coke Zero bottles. With 108 of these pistons all pushing at once, this vehicle is capable of producing plenty of power.

The video below was also directed by Rob Cohen of “The Fast and the Furious,” which led Gobe to affectionately nickname the experiment as “The Fizzy and the Furious.” If you happen to have some 3D glasses handy, see the video in all its 3D glory.
