Groundbreaking 2011 Chevrolet Volt Gets Edison Award

2011 Chevrolet Volt imageThe Volt has lived up to the hype, allowing some drivers to rack up more than 1,000 miles before fill-ups. That’s why the Volt’s innovative extended-range electric powertrain was just awarded the Gold Medal at the the 2011 Edison Awards. But this award is just one of many recent awards for the Volt, which have included the Motor Trend Car of the Year award.

“Being selected as an Edison Award winner validates our drive to develop an all-new transportation solution,” said Tony Posawatz, vehicle line director for the Chevrolet Volt. “Innovation has been at the heart of the Volt from its onset; from the development of the Li-ion battery to the drive unit and the driver connectivity.”
