GM is investing heavily in existing plants in an effort to retool for new models as well as to add new jobs. One plant getting plenty of attention is Fairfax Assembly. The plant built 320,000 Chevy Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans last year and that number is only expected to increase as the all-new 2012 Malibu hits the market.
“The LaCrosse has been critical to the resurgence of Buick, bringing many new customers to Buick showrooms,” said GM Manufacturing Manager Jim Glynn. “This investment to improve an already strong car will help us continue winning converts to the brand.”
