The all-new Ford Explorer continues to offer a rugged package like its predecessor, but for 2011 it has also become much more refined thanks to its unibody construction. Additionally, the new Explorer offers award-winning safety features like its industry-first rear inflatable seat belts which effectively reduce head, neck and chest injuries in the event of a collision.
“Ford’s rear inflatable seat belt technology will enhance safety for rear seat passengers of all ages, especially young children who might be more vulnerable in crashes,” said Sue Cischke, Ford group vice president, Sustainability, Environment and Safety Engineering. “Rear inflatable seat belts—a Ford exclusive—help build on our safety leadership.”
