Just launching the high-end V8-powered 5 Series Gran Turismo by itself may have seemed like a good idea when it became available late last year. However, slow sales of the 550i GT suggests a six cylinder option should have also been available.
“The V8 was probably not the right car to launch it with,” Rich Brekus, BMW’s general manager of sales for North America said at a recent press event.
